There are over 1000 labs at UW-Madison and more than 1 million chemical containers to barcode and upload. You can follow procedures on correct handling and labeling of containers, enter data, raise issues, and follow all laboratory safety requirements. We offer a retention bonus of up to $3,000 for staff who stay with us until the end of the project. There are opportunities for advancement to a Team Lead position for those who show aptitude, willingness, and initiative. You will grow and learn with us as a member of the project team.

A typical day will include:

  • Arrive on time for a daily briefing and site assignment with the project team
  • Transfer to a research or teaching lab
  • Work with lab staff and follow safety protocols to barcode chemical containers
  • Key in details of each chemical container to an Excel spreadsheet
  • Return to the office for a debrief with the project team

The anticipated project end date is December 2024; this end date may be extended but will not exceed 2 years in duration. We will provide help, guidance, and support for whatever role you want to tackle next.
